Old Occitan, also known as Old Provençal, was historically spoken in the region that now constitutes the southern part of France. Today, it is studied as the language of the troubadours who significantly impacted lyric poetry throughout southern Europe. Liberation Philology Old Occitan offers a comprehensive platform to explore the vocabulary and grammar of this ancient language through an engaging multiple-choice test that is conveniently accessible wherever you have your phone.

 <li>Vocabulary: The vocabulary section comprises 150 levels, each challenging you to translate 10 words between Old Occitan and English. These words are specifically chosen for their relevance to Occitan literature.  <li>Verbs: This section assesses your proficiency in parsing and conjugating a wide array of regular and irregular Old Occitan verbs.
